On May 9, 2018, the IRCC invited 3,500 candidates to apply for permanent residence who were in the Express Entry pool and had a CRS score of 441+.
The IRCC has kept the draw size at 3,500 again for this draw and will most likely have another 2 or 3 draws of similar size or larger. With these larger draw sizes, the CRS score will decrease further as candidates lower down on the list are being selected. Our firm expected to see CRS scores below 440 this draw, but it stubbornly held the same 441 score as the previous draw. We still anticipate to see the score lower into the 430s within the next few draws.
It was around the same time last year, between May and June, when the draw sizes increased above 3,500 and the CRS score made a new low of 413. A combination of higher draw sizes (3,500+) and fewer PNP candidates in the pool will help lower the CRS score further as we approach the summer.
In 2018, 85,000 people are expected to be selected in Express Entry system, under the Federal Skilled Worker program.
The ideal candidate under Express Entry has a score of at least 415+. To calculate your Express Entry score, use our Express Entry CRS Calculator.
