On May 23, 2018, the IRCC invited 3,500 candidates to apply for permanent residence who were in the Express Entry pool and had a CRS score of 440+.
The IRCC kept the draw size at 3,500 again for this draw, which is the 4th draw in a row of this size. We expect the next draw size to increase to 3,750+, and repeat for 3 or 4 draws. With these larger draw sizes, the CRS score will decrease further as candidates lower down on the list will be selected. Our firm expects to see the CRS score below 440 the next draw, and perhaps in the 432 - 435 range by July.
Last June (2017), when the draw sizes increased above 3,500, the CRS score made a new low of 413. A combination of higher draw sizes (3,500+) and fewer PNP candidates in the pool will help lower the CRS score further as we approach the summer.
In 2018, 85,000 people are expected to be selected in Express Entry system, under the Federal Skilled Worker program.
The ideal candidate under Express Entry has a score of at least 415+. To calculate your Express Entry score, use our Express Entry CRS Calculator.
