In the latest draw, the IRCC invited 3,500 candidates to apply for Permanent Residence via Express Entry who had a CRS score of 441+. Our firm was hopeful that the CRS score would decrease after the IRCC increased the draw size to 3,900 in the last round. Unfortunately, they did not repeat this draw size for multiple draws, as they did with previous draws this year. The CRS cut-off score is still stubbornly holding above the 440 level, where it has remained throughout 2018. After witnessing the latest pattern following this latest draw, we feel that 440 is the lowest score we will see this year.
Candidates who are interested to immigrate should start the process now, to enter into the pool before the beginning of 2019. As evidenced in past years, the CRS score is typically lower at the beginning of the year than the latter half of the year.
The quota for 2018 is to invite 85,000 people to apply for PR via the Express Entry system, under the Federal Skilled Worker program.
The ideal candidate under Express Entry has a score of at least 435+. To calculate your Express Entry score, use our Express Entry CRS Calculator.
